Weekly Update #12

Weekly Update #12 (23rd November- 29th November)

I am back! And back in HD! My new laptop is a beast; superfast and sexy graphics. EVE has become a whole new experience. Running two clients is not a bother either and it has been a dream coming back after 4 weeks of eve abstinence.

The only fucker is that it runs windows 7 and it has some loading issues every once and a while. But I am working on it. Also as mentioned before she aint pretty hence my request for artwork to plaster over the laptop cover. I have had some interest but only one piece has been sent in sofar. A job well done by TehMastersword;

Please note the competition is still running and the prize is increased to 500 mil for the winning design; so don’t make TehMastersword win by default!

Celebrity Death Match
CDM #18 has also been completed, Kirith Kodachi and myself duked it out once more to break the tie. Kiriths faction fit Mega proved too much for me but good times have been had by both.

Something EPIC brewing again as I am planning my next EPIC CDM. This EPIC CDM will be played out in the New Year and nothing is confirmed just yet but I can let you know it shall involve Carriers. So excited already!

Pirating
I have managed to stay at the top of the killboard for the entire week! Maybe not such an achievement for some but it sure does excite me. I know the week isn’t over just yet and K Starwind and Ronindata are set to beat me but at the time of writing this and just a few hours to go I am still victorious.

There is a few pod kills on there and some low blow kills on unsuspecting haulers but a kill is a kill. Also the stats got boosted by Realyfs class-A find of an offline POS. After stealing their ships we proceeded with taking out the majority of the modules but with the lack of BIG guns we left the tower standing.

A Raven got ransomed for 100 mil and after a swift payment I have my name on the ransom board also.

One of the highlights this week however was going on an 8 man Interceptor roam with Ronindata. Some nice kills got scored and good fun all round.

A surprising number of T3 cruisers have been encountered this week. All got away with their damn cloakyness and speed. I did get on a T3 killmail but at the receiving end. A super fast locking Loki ripped up my Drake and pod. /me sighs…

I think my favourite kill this week must be this Jaguar which we ended up chasing for 170 clicks. I had him tackled but simply couldn’t break his tank, Wikkid had him perma-jammed throughout the 10 minute engagement but it took Realyfs experience to contribute a mere 915 damage points to finish him off.

I will be very busy for work in December but I shall be in space for every spare minute…

Weekly Update #10

Weekly Update (12th – 18th October)

The worst possible thing has happened to me this week; my laptop has crashed. I would settle for being station bound but no such luck, planet bound it is. I am getting my EVE-fix via blogs and the Capsuleer app on my I-pod, and get to do some drawings for my fiction story. My laptop should be returned to me by Wednesday if there are no further complications. Until then I’ll ninja the wife’s laptop to blog.

A quick shout out to the 4 new followers I have gained since my last reference to it, bringing the total to 17! I have also managed to sign up to Google Analytics which has been insightful. I have been told that is unlikely to show all my readers and neither will it show the I-pod Capsuleer readers. But it’s a start. At least it gives an indication what posts’ have been popular and where my traffic has come from. Shame I didn’t get it any earlier.

It will not be a surprise that working with Mynxee on the EPIC CDM has boosted my ratings too. To give you an idea; nearly 50% of my hits have come through her post on the events. It begs the question how many hits Mynxee gets in one day? 1000? 2000? More?

Another neat feature of Google Analytics is that it shows the Google searches people made to get to your site. ‘Kestrel of Doom’ has landed me 6 hits, ‘Voers Fitting Tool’ has been searched for four times and ‘eve invention vexor Ishtar skills’ apparently leads the way to my site too?!?!

The highest referring site other than Google and nearly matching it is Mynxee’s class blog. To my surprise Kane Rizzels blog gave me 45 referrals in the last 7 days too, surprising only because our CDM was a fair few weeks ago...

Other than that I just wanted to spur on more people to join the in-game Bloggers Channel. Whether you write a blog yourself, want to write a blog or just want to say ‘hi’.

Celebrity Death Match
This week finally saw the completion of CDM#17 the long awaited and overdue re-match with Kirith Kodachi. It’s never nice to lose but kirith beat me well and outsmarted me. The blow of the loss has also been softened by the fact I have also secured a Battleship duel. A fight I have been craving for for some time. Rules for this have not been established and thus please keep suggestions coming.

I had hoped to get the blogfather Crazy Kinux to offer me this opportunity but CK is impossible to find in-game. Clearly our on-line times missing each-other. CK is as rare as Morphite in high sec. =)

Pirating
This week saw my Bastard application accepted! Big news for me as I have been following all Bastard related Blogs and stories available. I have been flying with the Bastards for a fair few weeks and have had a great time doing so. The crew is great to hang around with and are professional but above all; fun. I can see myself settling in for the long haul as I have been made to feel right at home. Special thanks to Happy San who has helped me settle in and has also being my mentor and recruiter.

As new recruits come in, unfortunately some of the older members move on too. Gorgoleon has by now indicated he is leaving and his colourful FC’ing will be sorely missed. I am grateful for him dragging a small bunch of us around the other day scoring some class-A kills; including a Cerberus, Raven and a Loki.

I am now also recognised by CONCORD as a criminal as my Sec status dropped to -6.2. Helped along by a few pod kills I must add but hey; can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

Another great feature of the Bastards is their ranking system which strives one to be better and get involved. I have, with the help of the kills I made in the last few weeks, got my first promotion to 1st Luitenant and if my laptop would still have been with me this weekend I am confident I would have made it to Captain before this post. The curve upwards after this is steep however but my goal is to be at the top one day.

For those of you that read my first fiction story and particularly the last chapter can imagine my excitement when I joined a bastard roam in my Crow Interceptor and a Charon Freighter got scanned down by Happy San. I simply had to be involved and after a first fail with 2 interceptors to get a lock, Happy managed to scan him down again.

I was the first one there, eager for the ransom or kill. On landing and warp bubble collapse my primed point started to lock... Point! Point! Point! I shouted over comms. My excitement replaced by frustration as the freighter disappeared from my overview. WTF?!

Corie did a logofski. We waited around in neighbouring systems for some time and I made the decision to log off myself in the place where Corie disappeared. The remaining gang returned home to Evatie and fell asleep. Asleep long enough not to notice Corie logged back on and made a safe get-away.

I sighed with frustration but my mood picked up when Corie was spotted in a belt of the system we had come from not long before. Clearly bait in his Drake and with an Apocalypse Battleship as backup. Still angry with the poor sportsmanship of logging off whilst under attack, both fell to our firepower and that eased my mind a little. The strangest thing is that although they where baiting neither one of their ship had a point fitted...

We followed this up with a Wormhole raid where we killed 2 Stealth Bombers and tried to ransom a T2 Destroyer. I say tried as we held our fire to allow our victim to pay as he offered to pay on his own accord. A minor delay allowed him to slip out of the wormhole itself with me and me0de hot on his tail. Both of us in our haste to catch the SOB jumped into a 0.5 system.

It appears I am no longer welcome there but managed to warp around the system and back out the way I came with just my structure intact. me0de was not so lucky unfortunately and had to go home in his pod.

In other news
My industry Alt has been parked up in a wormhole for some time now but I rarely log him in anymore. I feel the CORP he is in deserves better than that and so I have tendered my resignation.

I have not built anything for some time; in fact the last thing I built was the carrier in which he sits. My extreme spending spree over the last 2 months has seen me blow 4 billion isk on booze, woman, poker, CDM and some ships.

I have come to the conclusion my 3rd account is now too much for me to handle and it’s time to sell him to recuperate some isk. For those of you interested please contact me in-game, leave me a message on my blog or email me on nshhkdvr@gmail.com . Please note that although he comes complete with a Carrier he is not a combat pilot.

That’s it for now...

Weekly Update #9

Weekly Update (5th- 11th October)

This is just a quick post as I have a short night ahead of me and have spent all day in front of the computer. Coffee has no more effect on me and my eyes have squared…

Celebrity Death Match
Ga’len claimed CDM #15 and killed me good. I failed to come up with an original fit in time and my Gank Kestrel could not match up with his superior fit and skills. Please read the relevant CDM and check out the other side of the story.

Kirith’s rematch is scheduled for Tuesday this week. And I cant wait to meet him again. The fight shall be in destroyers, a CDM first.

The EPIC CDM has been completed and although you clever capsuleers will be able to find out the result I shall not link any killboard post until I posted part 2 of the CDM post on the 24th October. Please do read part one to give you the prelude and run up of the fight which was pretty exciting to…

Pirating
O yeah I spent most of my time in Evati under Happy San’s wing. Happy is one of the brilliant Bastard’s that make me want to be part of their crew. More on that later though…

I have got a few kills both with the Bastards but also a few solo kills. My sec status has now dropped and I am officially a criminal with my sec status at -5.2.

I shall post a longer weekly update next week but for now this will have to do.

Weekly Update #8

Weekly update (28th September – 4th October)

Celebrity Death Match;
I still haven’t managed to get together with Mr Kodachi but I presume he has been busy with as many thing’s as I have. Still this rematch is on the cards. A fixed date and time has been made however to catch up with Mr Ga’len.

So Wednesday coming shall see Celebrity Death Match #15 or if I catch up with Kirith first Wednesday shall see out CDM#16. The Stats blog shall follow immediately after CDM #15.

The Super Secret Epic CDM is coming along nicely and plans, tactics and fittings have been completed and purchased. I shall give a little more info and please make sure you are seated; no other than Mr Teadaze is going to frapps the fight and add commentary! For those of you that don’t know Teadaze; he was one of the commentators and frappsers of the Alliance Tournament!

More on that soon so keep your eyes peeled…

I have had a1 vs 1 with another reader and I am glad to report for him he beat me pretty good. After meeting up halfway between our locations and stealing from cans we warped to planet 1 of the agreed system. On landing I attempted to target his ship but failed. Then failed again. So instead I targeted his single Warrior II and dispatched it quickly. Attempting to target his ship failed again but then found its lock but it was too late.

Chack’Nul’s Tristan had a very impressive DPS and he posted his fit for me. I immediately saved it and on my way back to Evati I purchased some Tristans myself. On arrival in Evati I fitted it according to his spec but changed some fittings to T2 and the ammo to T2 and rigged it. I named them after my killer. So if you come across a Tristan named Chack’Nul beware…

On pirating;
After some more great roams with the Bastards my sec status dropped to -4.58 and is still falling quickly. I must admit I solo gate camped some noobs and podded them which did add to my sec status decrease.

I caught up with my favourite pirate Venom Orchid a couple of times this week and after a boring start to Sunday night I apparently started a gate camp which resulted in some nice chats and a few kills to. Finding my name via the Bastard kill-board looks pretty impressive now with 100% efficiency. (Bastard related only).

My application with the Bastards has reached the ‘vote’ stage and I hope to get good news from them soon. Fingers crossed…

On other news;

I have been following Roc Wielers post closely on the Fan Fest and again he has proven his superior blogging skills. My hats of to you sir for keeping me skiving off from work to read your updates.

That’s it for now but be sure to watch this space…

Weekly Update #7

Weekly Update (21st – 27th September)

O my, this week has flown by. I have had some decent eve time this week but have not completed all I intended to do. I blame heavy drinking and too much work.

It appears I have lost a follower…=( . I had from the start of this blog pretty quickly gained 13 followers. Now this does not necessarily matter or bother me, but it is nice to be liked isn’t it?

I get more and more shout-outs related to my blog and in general pilots are very complimentary on what I do. I have had some requests for duels on a non-CDM basis and I sure intend to pick these up. Please read Kirith’s blog on an interesting/very true opinion on this particular subject.

Now yes I write a blog and yes I fly futuristic space ships but my general RL pc skills suck. I have no idea how to keep track if people that actually read this blog and if so how many. Surely there is a way to keep track of this kinda thing?

Now one thing bothers me in myself; if I don’t care about what people think of me and if I do this blog for my own satisfaction…why do I like the shout-outs? Why do I want to know how many people actually read this? Why does it hurt I lost a follower?

I don’t know yet but I do intent to get back to it. If in the meantime anyone could tell me how to keep track of visitors/readers etc please let me know…

Celebrity Death Match;
First off; my apologies to Mr Kirith Kodachi for not having had a chance to meet up for the pending Celebrity Death Re-Match. I intend to catch up with you very soon, this week if at all convenient for you… =)

I did get to squeeze in a CDM with 00sage00 however with a pretty poor result on my end. I had started off pretty well with a convincing victory but lost the immediate rematch and got completely annihilated in the deciding battle. I tip my hat to Mr Sage for his unusual fitting choices and beating me as I had done with some celebs earlier in my CDM career. Please the relevant CDM post for the full story.

Also with this CDM completed I have prepared to publish a second ‘rambling’ post with updated stats. Some of which made certainly made me laugh… or think… and interestingly enough 00sage00 will claim the ‘most words written for a single CDM post’. More to follow soon; as I shall post the statistics after CDM #15. Please don’t forget to send me suggestions or request for stats you would like to see from Celebrity Death Match.

Helpdesk;
In the helpdesk section I intended to post some more guide related stuff but again most guides have been done over and over again. There is space to give my point of view but this takes time, something I currently do not have. Also some of the subjects I intended to tackle have actually been discussed at length this week by some very good bloggers. And they sure did put up good arguments and suggestion. Breaking out the subject in easily understood bits then discussing it. I think the topics; Cloaking and D-scanner use are somewhat taken care of…

I did however post a helpdesk blog this week; explaining the standard CDM rules.

Pirating;
I had booked this Friday night off work (a first for a long time), well at least I managed an earlier finish. I had done this for the mere chance to fly out with the Bastards on their 2 year Anniversary Faction Roam.

I have indeed applied to join the Bastards full time as I have had a great time flying with them so far and also the pirating side of eve has become extremely attractive to me.

My faction ship choice had become the Worm, hoping secretly the Bastards would delay the roam until after the Dominion update. But either way I was happy just to be there. I owned a Worm about a year ago and paid 40 million isk for it. Scouting the market these days you will rarely find one for less than 100 million. It’s an expensive start to the night for sure but I did manage to pick up a ‘bargain’ Worm for 100 million already rigged.

It was speed rigged, not my prime choice and it did force me to fit the little devil as a nano tackler. I didn’t mind I just wanted to come along, and I did not expect to bring it back in one piece after the roam.

Flashfresh the Bastard CEO fc’d the 6 hours I spent online with a mixed fleet. We started of in Evati with 19 pilots, some Bastards, some potential recruits but all in faction ships. Some of the ships; Caracal Navy Issues, Firetails, a Worm (mine), and a beautiful Gallente Navy Vexor…

Action was sparce but the fleet had been good fun to be with. We go a few kills ourselves, lost a few pilots here and there… Including myself…

An annoying Ishtar and his Sleipner friend took a good 40 minutes out of our scheduled roam and in a sheer attempt to impress my prospective colleagues I went in for a hero-tackle… I can merely quote Flash and say; MWD + straight line = death.

So I lost the worm, hey ho. I started purchasing a Kestrel and fittings in the area we where in but with supply low in that sector I ended up just flying back to Evati to pick up a ship. On arrival in Evati I chose a Crow instead to make sure I could catch up with the fleet a little quicker…

On arrival back with the fleet I managed to get involved with some more tackles and kills, finally dropping Nashh’s sec status to negative. The night ended with the remainder of the fleet being camped in for some time but with some careful planning Flashfresh got us back home safely.

I missed out on the opportunity to fly home z0de’s Navy Vexor but with one recently purchased myself is shall enjoy that Demon soon enough.

Weekly Update #6

Weekly Update (14th – 20th September)

O my word. Work has ripped me a new one this week. Various members of staff bailed, ill or fake ill or had to be fired. Obviously this meant me picking up the shit and the extra hours. 70 hrs later and I am knackered. I am getting too old for this stuff.

Subsequently this means I got minimal eve time in. I did manage to get 2 CDM post in this week; Spectre and Hallan Turrek. Spectre late on Sunday just after posting my weekly update and Hallan mid week. The result has been disastrous as I lost both. The CDM score now swinging in the celebs favour for the first time again in 12 fights.

A CDM re-match has been agreed (after much fist-shaking) with Mr Kirith Kodachi and shall be done at some point this week. Kirith has claimed a first in the fact we shall be duelling in Destroyers this time around. I haven’t got high hopes as I haven’t flown a destroyer for at least a year but it shall be good fun for sure…

The super secret epic CDM is coming along nicely but I can’t disclose too much just yet. I can however tell you the date of the fight will be 11th October 2009 and as we get closer to the date I shall drop a few more hints…

I had some issues with the comments on my blog and wish to thank Manasi and Kirith for there assistance. I hope to have it working again now on posts made after this. So for anyone that tried to post a comment on CDM 12 & 13 please comment on this post instead.

A short post for me this week but I have bags under my eyes that could contain a weekly food shopping trip. Diafbkvazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……….

Weekly Update #4

Weekly Update #4 (31st August – 6th September)

I haven’t been on Eve as much as I wanted but still a busy week yet again. On the 1st of September the new bloggers for the blog pack were due to be selected and to my elation I found the following comment underneath CDM #11;

CrazyKinux said...
Welcome to the EVE Blog Pack. Look for a post about it soon.

O yeah! That’s right! Find me on an i-pod near you soon! I am so chuffed and hope to do my bit for the blogging community.

Celebrity Death Match;
Finally I got to meet the one and only Flashfresh. The duel I have been looking forward to for some time; cruiser with comedy fit. I am proud to say I have won the fight but even more proud to say I have joined the Bastards for some fun a little later in the week.

Unfortunately Chribba and Hallan Turrek have both declined to participate in a CDM. Chribba explained that even if he would agree to fight he would lose on purpose. A shame but I understand the man has a clean reputation to uphold. Hallan, like a true celebrity, declined as he is too busy. Unfortunate but I hope he finds time at some point in the future.

I have agreed however to fight Spectre in a cruiser duel in the upcoming week. I fear with my CDM Cruiser record I am to lose but fingers crossed. RoninData has also agreed to fight but the details are to be discussed. I am hoping for another fun Bastards expierence and will keep you up to date as soon as I hear from him.

Fiction;
A reader who has kindly left encouraging comments on my blogspot challenged me to a duel this week. I gladly accepted the challenge from Squizz. I have decided to write my next fiction story about our encounter and hope to post it before too long. I can however let you know the skilled pilot defeated me in a frigate duel and also in a rookie-lol-fit fight just after.

Pirating and stuff;
Nashh is skilling hard for Battlecruisers so I can join in on the gate and station action but I had some fun with Lau this week;

I joined the Bastards after my fight with Flashfresh on Tuesday and had a great however unsuccessful time. I did also get an invite to join them again.

Wednesday I got involved in a little scrap outside the Bastard base and assisted in the destruction of a Drake. Only to have my kestrel blasted out of space by a small blob.

Friday I made a 32 jump round trip to pick up one of my Drakes and dropped it off in Evati. I had a brief chat with legendary pirate RoninData and we agreed to do a CDM at some point soon. He gave me a warm welcome back into Evati and subsequently destroyed my Battlecruiser with his wingman Jarit. No hard feelings though; all is fair in love and pirating. Flashfresh picked up the killmail and eve mailed me not long after explaining he has set me to blue to avoid future incidents. YAY! I am blue to the Bastards.

I had just finished a 15 hour shift on Saturday and logged on briefly to update my skill queue. A frigate roam was about to set off according to the Bastard channel. O noes, I thought, its 3 am, I really should go to bed… of course I didn’t…

Mynxee was also in the fleet and before I knew it we roamed through low and nul sec. Nothing but some annoyances for the first hour and unfortunately the fleet started to decrease in size. Some pilots logged, Mynxee got shot and podded. The killers paraded her famous corpse which was worth a chuckle. She rejoined the fleet not long after.

The fleet was cool calm and collected throughout. No shouting and downed pilots didn’t scream but accepted their fate and picked themselves up after. A very good experience yet again and topped of with a few kills in the end. With the remaining 6 frigates we destroyed a mining (AFK) Rokh Battleship. A pod ransom was tried but after no response the inevitable happened and that got destroyed too.

A few jumps later we managed to get a Caracal kill but lost another frigate in the ensuing battle. I had to park up in a local station and log as 6 am is definitely past my bedtime… It was worth the argument with the missus.

Cant wait for next week…

Ramblings #4 Eve Blog Pack

This is just a quick post to explain what I blog about. I have been accepted into the Eve blog pack this week (thank you CK) and will give a quick run down of what you can expect from following my antics. I have tried to keep my stuff under certain headings to make it easier for myself to keep track of what I am doing and for any readers to see by the title if they want to read the actual post or skip the particular subject I have posted.

Celebrity Death Match
By far this has proven to be my most successful part of blogging so far. I this section I explain my side of the story after challenging Eve celebrities to a duel. Various have already happened and there are lots more coming. Watch this space…

Weekly Updates
At the end of every week I post about what I have been up to in general or what achievements I made.

Fiction
I have written a four part fiction story and have already posted the first 3 chapters. I intended to post the last chapter on Wednesday but have not been able to do so. Instead I shall post it this coming Wednesday. The story is about Nashh joining the Bastards pirate corp. This never actually happened but as I said this is a fictive story. Flashfresh the Bastard CEO has kindly proof read the story and helped me make it more authentic. I will repost the full story including some artwork in a couple of weeks. A second story is in the making so if you enjoyed the first one keep your eyes peeled for the next...

Ramblings
Mid week rambling’s about stuff I want to get of my chest or simply stuff I cant find a better place for.

Helpdesk
Guides or advice from me. This is a tough subject as most guides have been done and redone many times. I add my bit though…

Bio Funnies
Simply copied and pasted quotes from pilot bio’s I have come across in space and laughed out loud at.

Eve Blog Banter
My responses to the famous Eve blog banter. This is a tough one and I haven’t participated to any just yet but I hope to put in a good effort on the next one.

So now you know what to expect from me, I hope you enjoy it! Remember to leave me some comments; good or bad they will only improve what I do!

Weekly Update #3

Weekly update #3 (24th August – 30th August)

This week has been tough as some of my assistants at work are off on holiday and I had to pick up the extra hours. In fact this update is written at work. Don’t tell my boss.

Celebrity Death Matches;
This week saw my lead in the Celebrity Death Match score tumble even further with a loss to fellow Blogger Manasi. The score now almost even with the celebrities trailing with 6 wins versus my 7. Kudos to Manasi who out-performed me in every way and has been a real pleasure to meet.

I fear that Kane Rizzel has blocked me and is not responding to my emails. It’s a shame as I had already parked up a Battlecruiser in his home system in preparation of our agreed fight.

There are some more in the pipe line but the very next fight will be with legendary Pirate CEO Flashfresh from the Bastards. This should be an interesting fight as we have agreed to fly a ‘comedy fit’; T1 Cruiser hulls with a Battleship sized gun. Yeah, you read that right. Break out EFT or similar tools and give it a try. Keep in mind that normally I only fly Caldari. The fight will be this coming Tuesday at 21:00 Eve time at an undisclosed location. Please see Flashfleshs’ blog for some details too and feel free to leave comments or suggestions on the fits. I have already prepared a ship but can’t discuss this until we are both undocked and ready for battle, so watch this space…

Fiction;
I have posted Chapter 3 of my fiction story ‘you win some, you learn some’. Some responses in game have been positive however some have been to correct me on Eve universe laws of physics. All comments are appreciated as they can only drive me to write more and better.

Flashfresh has been very kind to read over the story and will advise me on some of the Bastard lingo and help me make the story more matter-of-fact. I intent to post the last Chapter on Wednesday this week as I originally intended but will re-release the amended story in a month or two with all the drawings I missed out.

In other news;
The dark side has been calling me more and more and on Monday evening I flipped my first ever can. Why? To be honest the only reason I did it is to have some fun and pick a fight. It worked and I had a gang of 3 newer players in frigates attack me with a more skilled pilot in a battleship. I had a laugh and talked briefly with the Battleship pilot after I popped one of the frigates. No hard feelings I hope.

As all 4 attackers left the system I spotted in local something that I had heard about but not seen before. A corp called Pew Pew had entered the system with 7 pilots named; Banana Alpha, Banana Beta, Banana Charlie… you get the idea.

I decided to investigate and finally found an Orca with 7 retrievers in a belt. I flew around for a bit until the Orca pilot convo’d me and asked if I wanted to fight his main in Battleships. Do I? you bet!

I undocked my favourite Raven and jetted off 2 systems away. There was a possibility it was a trap however I was willing to take the risk. I am confident my Raven fit is one of the best and Torpedo damage is assisted with the implants I carry. On damage out-put there will not be many Battleships that better my 1243 DPS.

We met and danced only briefly; his Blaster fit Megathron made short work of my beloved Raven and destroyed it with more than half his armour still intact. I quickly escaped in my pod feeling disappointed in the result. I offered him a GF and took a prolonged lunch break.

I had been wondering not so much how he had beaten me but how he ran 8 accounts. So I decided to have a chat with him;

Jensius Duo > lo :)
Me > 0/
Me > complements on the kill
Me > had a question for you
Jensius Duo > hehe, thanks for bringing it :)
Me > lol
Me > how do you mine with 7 accounts?
Jensius Duo > lol, i run the 7 clients on one pc
Me > jebus
Jensius Duo > on a 1680x1050 20" screen
Me > must be slow?
Jensius Duo > every client is 1024x768
Me > is it worth it?
Jensius Duo > not too bad actually. Got a core 2 quad Q6600, nvidia 285 gtx and 4gb of ram
Jensius Duo > no clue
Jensius Duo > but i kinda got the 6 accounts for free anyway
Me > ?!
Jensius Duo > well EVE had this buddy program, if you invite someone, they get a 21-day extended trial
Jensius Duo > then if they activate, you get +30 days gametime as well
Me > i see
Jensius Duo > now, there was this steam action, where you could active your trial (+30 days) for 5 euro's
Me > aha
Jensius Duo > seeing as i had 2 accounts, i got +90 days on both accounts + 6 51-day accounts, for 30 euro's
Me > feck
Jensius Duo > even normal gtc's for the 90 days would be more expensive
Jensius Duo > :p
Me > nice one, how do you keep track of 9 clients running though?
Jensius Duo > oh, the mining barges only need checking back to every 5 minutes or so
Jensius Duo > so i just quickly go through 'em all every 5 minutes, while doing other stuff :)
Me > very impressive. good on you.

Interesting I thought and went on with my day.

Just to finish;
My career as a Pirate has finally started! Nashh Kadavr has been accepted into The Black Rabbits Academy! I still need to find some time to bring some ships in for him and after one op it has become clear I need something sturdy to deal with gate guns. I wonder if an Ishtar can…

Also on September the 1st new bloggers will have been selected to join the Blog Pack! I have put myself forward and hope I am one of the lucky few. Fingers crossed.

Cant wait for next week!

Weekly Update #2

Weekly Update #2 (17th August - 23rd August)

What a week it has been. I am back at work and hated every minute of it. However; it brings home the bacon and pays for my Eve Online subscription.

I gained another two followers! Yay! It is always nice to think someone actually reads this stuff.

This week has been the week where I posted chapter 2 of my fiction story but sofar nobody has commented. I suppose I expected someone to as the title ‘Mynxee’ should draw some attention. Also in the story Nashh has joined the Bastards and I was expecting to get in trouble for that as clearly I have not. Maybe nobody has read it.

CrazyKinux has kindly linked another one of my blogs on the speed linking list (thanks!) and has called out for bloggers interested in the blog pack, Pick me! Pick me! A lot of interest has been shown by some really good bloggers and thus competition is stiff. I will keep my fingers crossed until the 1st of September.

I also managed to squeeze 3 Celebrity Death Matches in; one on Monday with Hellcat cutie Venom Orchid and the second suitably at the weekend with Eve’s Weekend Warrior Tony. And I also caught up with Colonel Roc Wieler. The score is Celebs 5 and me in the lead with 7. Tony and Roc post will come tomorrow; including some very cool screen-shots.

I have also started some new topics; Ramblings, Helpdesk and Bio Funnies. In the topic Ramblings I intent to ramble stuff that I need to get off my chest or put stuff that doesn’t fit in anything else. Helpdesk will be short posts related to guides, fitting suggestions and such like. Finally I added Bio Funnies as my answer to Roc Wielers’ brilliant short posts of quotes and will simply be copied bio’s that made me smile, chuckle, grin or eve laugh out loud.

My fight with Venom Orchid and related Helpdesk post caused some controvocy as the fitting I had picked for the fight had been bespoke for her or gimped if one would prefer. I didn’t feel good about the victory to say the least. I have felt like a coward all week. On top of that I have been getting a lot of stick on the bastard kill board and also Hallan Turek posted a comment on the related blog. The Celebrity Death Match is something I enjoy doing and Hallan is clearly on the list however I feared I jeopardised future fights by what I had done. Again my apologies to the community and I ensure you a setup like it will not happen again.

Venom Orchid has been extremely good about it however. I have offered to retract the score, I purchased and contracted her a fully fitted and loaded Rifter and offered a rematch. The score is to stay as she stated I played by the rules set out, the Rifter I contracted to her has been declined for the same reason. (So now I am stuck with a Rifter I cant fly and fittings I don’t use) The rematch has been accepted however and I can’t wait! Time and a place are to be agreed and ship hulls could be Frigates or maybe Battlecruisers (YAY!). The Match has also been sweetened with a wager; Venom will design a banner for my blog if I win, I will do a saucy drawing of her if she wins. And yes, I have already started drawing in preparation for my loss ;-)

Roll on next week….

Weekly Update #1

Weekly Update #1 (10th August-16th August)

Well well, it has been a good week for me. I have been off on holiday and thus had plenty of time on Eve and side projects.

The first biggy is of course this blog. I have intended to start writing and drawing again a little while ago, getting out the creative side of me and all that jazz. It just hasn’t materialised until this week. There are still some things I want to change and add but that will come. My first 3 Celebrity Death Matches have been posted and back dated and CrazyKinux has kindly posted a reference in his last blog. I am gonna keep pestering him to add me to the blog pack as that is my goal but until then I will keep blogging away.

Also a quick note to thank Mynxee, Venomorchid, Shae Tiann, CrazyKinux and Kirith for adding themselves as followers of this blog. I am truly honoured.

I have also posted the first of four chapters of a fiction story I wrote last month. So far no comments but; no news is sometimes good news. I have finished the complete story but am unsure if I should post all of them straight away or spread it over the next two weeks or so. They are incomplete in my mind too as I intended to include some drawings but I haven’t got around to that yet. I had also intended to have someone proof read them as well before I posted them but I can’t find any volunteers. Instead I am using the freedom of speech act and just doing it. I hope not to offend anyone as I have included various characters out of Eve but if I do offend anyone I can only apologize and refer to the freedom of speech thingy again. Also I need to stress the fact that it is a fictive story. None of the events actually happened and all of it is lies. Apart from the stuff about Mynxee :-)

Today particularly has been busy as I am managed to squeeze in 2 Celebrity Death Matches; my favourite blogger Kirith Kodachi and the infamous Colonel (and top of the wish list) Mr Roc Wieler.

Finally a quick thank you to Caldarla of WWC for helping me get setup.
